Missed out on $500 (booo!)

On the connecting flight from Dallas/Ft. Worth to Mexico City, they asked for a volunteer to wait for the next flight (in two hours) in exchange for a $500 voucher. I raised my hand, grabbed my bag, and jumped up from my seat. But one of the flight attendants said a guy offered first, so I slunk back in my assigned spot, grumbling about Latino misogynists -- clearly a stretch, but disappointment triggers my inner cynic. ;-)
