Chile's sexual revolution?
Chile is a weird place. In some ways, it's so similar to the States ... high technology, big gap between the haves and have-nots, political stalemates, rampant credit card debt ... but sometimes I'm smacked upside the head by how different it is. Like haircuts. Mullets are standard. People have one dreadlock. People have styles I can't even describe. And the young people dress very punk, emo, 80s, I don't know. And they "ponceo" (see the article). Young Chilean couples are already very brazen about making out in public, but this new phenomenon takes it to a whole new level. I mean, the New York Times took notice.

But does this count as a sexual revolution? It seems patently unsexy to me. And can you be liberated and independent when you're just like all your friends?
